Koby Segal

Koby Segal - CEO

A seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in communication and networking.

Prior to joining Color Chip, Koby served as COO for Voltaire Ltd., helping to scale the company to become a leading provider of InfiniBand and Ethernet connectivity solutions, to have a successful IPO and to be acquired in February 2011 by Mellanox technologies.

Prior to joining Voltaire, from 1998 to 2001, Koby was Vice President of Research and Development and Customer Support at Lucent Technologies Inc. and then Avaya (after its spin-off from Lucent Technologies, Inc.).

From 1995 to 1998, Koby served as Director of Research and Development at Madge Network N.V., a supplier of advanced Ethernet, ATM and multilayer switching solutions.

Prior to 1995, Koby served in various positions at Lannet Data Communications Ltd., including Director of Research and Development, Manager of Hardware Development and LAN switch project manager.

Koby holds a B.Sc. in electrical engineering and electronics from Tel Aviv University, Israel and an M.B.A. from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Eli Arad

Eli Arad - Vice President Research & Development

Eli Arad joined the founding team of ColorChip and leads the R&D activity of the company. Mr. Arad has gained over 15 years of industrial experience in developing PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) devices and optoelectronic systems.

He is an expert in fabrication and processing of active and passive optical waveguided devices using technologies based on Lithium Niobate and ion exchange in glass. 

Eli holds a MSc in physical electronics from Tel Aviv University.

David Brooks, PhD

David Brooks, PhD - Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Brooks joined ColorChip in 2001 as CTO. His expertise in optical devices and high-speed electronic design helped the ColorChip team to develop the company’s proprietary technology and systems.

Dr. Brooks' distinguished career includes serving as Chief Hardware Architect at Gamalong, a startup company that develops electro-optic products and CTO of Orika Optical Networks, a startup company in the area of networking that developed optical routers for the next generation DWDM telecommunication networks. In 1992 he joined the electro-optic group at the Faculty of Engineering at Tel Aviv University to carry out his doctoral research in fast tunable optical Add-Drop filters based on Ti:LiNbO3 Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) for next-generation optical telecommunication networks. In 1986 he joined the VLSI design center of Motorola Semiconductor in Israel as a senior engineer.

Dr. Brooks received his BSc and MSc in electrical engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology and his PhD from Tel Aviv University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Physical Electronics.

Yigal Ezra

Yigal Ezra - Vice President Business Development

Yigal Ezra joined ColorChip with extensive experience in Corporate Strategy, Business Development and M&A capacities with Fortune 500 Telecom and Internet Companies.

Prior to joining ColorChip Yigal was a Senior Director of Corporate Strategy & New Business Initiatives at Amdocs (NYSE:DOX) where he managed the company’s Strategic Agenda from formulation through execution. Previously he was a Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy & Development at VeriSign (NASDAQ:VRSN) where he oversaw an overall $3Bn deal flow of M&A transactions, and the formulation of key growth strategies for the company’s Core Business Lines. Upon graduating from Business School, Yigal was a Senior Consultant at inCode Telecom – today the Strategy & Technology Consulting Arm of Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC)

Yigal holds an MBA from Emory University - Goizueta School of Management and a BA in Economics and Accounting from Ben-Gurion University. Yigal also holds a CPA diploma. 

Shai Belzer

Shai Belzer - Chief Financial Officer

Shai Belzer joined ColorChip after having gained extensive experience while serving in several executive financial positions in hi-tech companies within the communications industry.

Prior to joining ColorChip, Shai served as the Chief Financial Officer of CyOptics Inc., a leading optical components manufacturer backed by investors that include JVP, The Sprout Group, TowerBrook Capital Partners and Eurofund. During his tenure at CyOptics Shai raised more than $50M of funding, presented the company to the Board and shareholders, played a key role in the company’s M&A activities and played a key role in the acquisition of TriQuint (NASDAQ: TQNT) Semiconductor’s Optoelectronic division (formerly Agere Systems).

Prior to CyOptics Shai held various financial management roles at Elscint (Advanced Medical Imaging Systems Manufacturer), later acquired by Philips and G.E.

Shai holds an MBA and a BA in Economics, both from the University of Haifa.

Moran Binamo-Elkabets

Moran Binamo-Elkabets - HR & Administrative Manager

Moran joined ColorChip in 2008 and is responsible for all HR and Administrative activities within the company.

Moran brings with her a wealth of experience gained mainly in the Israeli Defence Force (IDF).

Moran served in a variety of HR and administrative positions during her 11 year tenure with the IDF and earned the rank of Major at the time of her discharge.

Moran holds a BA degree in Psychology and Education from the Open University.
